PROTOTYPE

As a traditional and folk handicrafts, blue calico was deeply loved by many people. However, blue calico was gradually replaced by new techniques because of its disadvantages, like color fading and monotonous style. For this work, I designed and finished my work in a traditional factory in Tongxiang, China. Thus a sense of wanting to break away from these traditions led me to the idea of thinking out of the box, as I believe that art can be re-accept in a new way. With this new combination, I hope to show people that a little tweak can give us a different vision of arts.
