Does technology impose limitations upon humanity?

Does it bring boundless inspiration within confined spaces?

Is he breaking through dimensions or endlessly extending within the same dimension?

Based on contemplation of these questions, Hongci has created a series of textile sculptures rooted in the art of knitting, exploring the possibilities that textile technology bestows upon humanity. The piece “Knitrusion” takes its inspiration from the realm of modelling, where “Extrusion” signifies the technique of transforming surfaces into three-dimensional forms, and “Knit” refers to the media utilized: knitting.

The artwork takes the form of a knitted bodysuit, elongating of the human form through extending the shoulders to an extraordinary height. Within a space of nearly four meters, individuals are granted the freedom to engage in limitless actions and movements. The elongated garment and the diminutive figure form together serve as a metaphor, perhaps interpreting the possibilities that technology presents. Is it boundless? Or boundless confined within limits? Are we the figure within the sculpture narrative?

作品《Knitrusion》是以建模的设计方式为灵感进行构思的， “Extrusion”指建模中一个“将面转化为体”的技术，“Knit”指作品采用的媒介——针织。

作品以针织连体紧身衣为雏形，通过拉长肩部将人体延伸至一个非正常高度。在近4米的空间里，人在既定的范围内可以做出无限的动作和行为。拉长的服装和渺小的人体，这个行为艺术似乎在解释科技带来的可能性——它是无限制的？还是有限的无限制？我们是否就是雕塑中的那个人？！
